Hello! I’m Linus Jingco, an Emerging Software Developer and Air Force Veteran currently based in Winchester, California.

I have a breadth of technical expertise in the fields of Cybersecurity and IT, but I have a strong passion for Software Development, particularly in research-driven development.

Experience

Technology Equipment Custodian (2023-2024)

I worked as an ITEC for the 7th Logistics Readiness Squadron in Dyess Air Force Base. It was my job to distribute and set up IT Equipment throughout a Flight of approximately 60+ personnel. I was also tasked to keep an inventory and made one out of Microsoft Access. I centralized the database on a SharePoint and used PowerApps to create a front-end for input with Access on the Backend.

Arc Scientist/Software Developer(2023)

I drove projects for a 3-man team at Detachment 24 in Randolph Air force Base, San Antonio TX. Worked with organizations like SAIC, RED6, Lockheed Martin, and MIT Lincoln Labs to further the development of VR Pilot Training. We created the necessary datalinks from T-38 Talon Jet Aircraft telemetry systems to contractor software in order to increase the fidelity of VR flight simulations to more acceptable levels. This was my initiative.

2T0X1 – Traffic Management Operations Technician (2021 – 2024)

TMO encompasses 2 jobs: logistician and travel clerk. I’m Hazmat & Forklift Certified, and I can build a crate and schedule trucks. I’ve also have extensive customer service experience, counselling 630+ families on military household movements, and delivered 50+ briefs in auditoriums and conferences. My love for software development still shone through in these roles. I created trackers and calculators which replaced written lists and scratch paper filled with hours of math work.

Education and Certification

Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity, Cyber/Electronic Operations and Warfare

McMurry University, Texas – May 2024

I’m mostly a self-taught coder and thought it suitable to pursue a Bachelor’s in Cybersecurity to deepen my technical expertise. This degree not only aligned with my commitment to military service but also provided valuable insights into secure software development.

CompTIA Security+ Certified

Allegiant Giving, Texas – August 2024

Iโ€™ve been interested in working with government agencies, so I decided to pursue the CompTIA Security+ Certification. I took a course with Allegiant Giving and successfully passed the exam. This certification demonstrates my proficiency in key areas such as Network Security, Threat Assessments, Risk Management, and more.

Skills

Web Development

Behold, this website. I also code HTML, CSS, JS but this time I used a local version of WordPress for refinement and used Simply Static to create a more simple package that I can deliver using FaaS methodologies rather than a dynamic site needing a BaaS. Everyone has browsers, this makes web-based programs more palatable and easier to deliver, which is why I use it when I can.

OpenAI Products

I made a small prototype that served as a proof of concept/use-case for what is now a bigger Air Force AI initiative. It was an LLM-powered curator for Air Force Regulation. It may not look like much right now but the idea of tokenizing a large document and using embeddings to assist an LLM-powered chatbot in answering niche questions was not yet concrete at the time. I was quite proud of this one. It’s still up on this link: [Link to TMOGPT]

Amazon Web Services

I delivered many of the projects mentioned above through the use of AWS functionalities, namely Lambda, S3 buckets, EC2, CloudFront, and Route 53. The on-demand nature of cloud computing is incredibly attractive both for the developer and the client, so I keep coming back for more. Constantly using these systems for many projects has made me quite adept at AWS deving. This site uses AWS.

Interests

Learning/Improving Software Development

This website reflects my ongoing passion for software development. I constantly seek out new and improved programming techniques, and what you see here is the result of my experimentation with platforms that were new to me.

Video editing and Gaming Content Creation

Occasionally I record gameplay with friends and create videos as highlights. Initially I was making these to preserve fun memories, but I found that It became a decent exercise of video editing skills. You can see some of my videos at my YouTube Channel: [Link to YouTube Channel]

Computer Building/Networking

I’ve built and set up more computers than I can count on my fingers. I find it fun to research part specifications and compare between them to best match the needs at the time. I’ve also worked with a fair bit residential and commercial networks. I’ve troubleshooted and set up pfSense machines before, thanks to an incident that cost me many hours of sleep. We can talk about it if you contact me!
